62 Days of Summer, a writing challenge
Happy July! As of today, I'm two weeks away from a visit home and just about five from a little three-week jaunt back to Malaysia. I have the incredible fortune of working for a Board of Education that allows its ALTs to take all school breaks off (seriously, this is such a rarity), and so of course I'm going to take full advantage of it and have as much fun as possible.
Along with that, I've also decided to use this summer of free time, relaxation, and travel to up my writing game a bit. Clearly, I enjoy writing (hence, the blog), but I haven't put in enough work to really make any improvements. Let's be honest here, it's hard to argue that one post per month does anything on that front. So, for the next two months, the next 62 days, I'm going to do my best to put out one post per day, every single day. I feel like this will really force me not only to write something and thus help things like style consistency and technical ability, but also force me to come up with new ideas more frequently, stretching that creative muscle as well.
Don't worry, though. Unless something is really noteworthy, they're not going to be all "This is what I did/ate/saw today." That shit's boring. I get it. Rather, I hope to use my daily events, routines, and interactions to inspire genuinely thoughtful, hopefully entertaining, ideally useful little bites of prose. And while this definitely has the potential to blow up in my face and leave me sounding like an idiot trying to wax poetic about boba, I'm looking forward to the challenge.
As this is a sort of improvement challenge, feel free to critique my writing, my style, whatever via comment, email, or Instagram message. I really, truly do appreciate feedback!
